RC-model MN78 1:12 customization. Part 1: visual changes.

Unexpectedly for myself, I got into the world of 1:24 - 1:10 scale RC models. As a test, I bought a cheap MN78 1:12 Jeep Cherokee model. Not so much to drive, but rather to try customizing it both visually and in terms of hardware. This is what it looks like visually in stock:

I completely disassembled it:

Painted the body slightly:

Also window frames, their seals, hood, interior. I also aged the body and added some rust effects.

As for hardware, I've only replaced the drive shafts so far:

And wheels in assembly (had to cut front fenders so they don’t rub at extreme suspension positions):

And front windshield wipers — didn't take any photos, you can see them on the overall shots of the model below. And also replaced shock absorbers with metal adjustable ones.
From visual upgrades: swapped front and rear bumpers. Installed an electric winch powered by a separate switch inside the cabin. Mounted a metal expedition roof rack loaded with various items. Replaced upper headlamps with proper one — also on metal frame. This is how it looks now:

Attached two lamps at the rear top:

Now in the front headlights, upper headlamp units and turn signals light up:

At the back taillights/brake lights, turn signals are working, and top-mounted lights can be switched on separately using a button inside the cabin:

Painted the interior and door panels:

With new shock absorbers and trimmed fenders, articulation improved slightly:

And here are several outdoor shots on both new and old wheels:

Now it's time for the hardware upgrade: I've ordered a 7-channel transmitter with a receiver (to ensure enough channels for everything), more powerful steering servo, and brushless motor. Later I plan to install portal axles as well. After that, this model will be fully upgraded. There will be summarizing post later.

For now, next in line is the FMS FCX24 1:24 Power Wagon. Already ordered and on its way :) The plan remains the same: first visual changes, then hardware upgrades.
